Miracle Blocking?
What if our own familiarity with God is quietly standing between us and the miracles he wants to do in our lives? That is the sobering question at the heart of this message, drawn from Matthew 13:58, where we read that Jesus did not do many miracles in his hometown because of the people's lack of faith. These were not strangers or enemies of God. They were people who had grown up around Jesus, heard his teachings, and watched him work. Yet their very closeness had bred a kind of spiritual indifference that shut the door on what could have been. Pastor Tom Girgus' message, "Miracle Blocking" cuts close to home for us too. We can show up week after week, sing the songs, quote the verses, and still carry hearts that have quietly stopped expecting anything from God. Familiarity, hurt, and unanswered prayers can all slowly harden the soil of our faith without us even realizing it. But the good news woven through this message is that the same Jesus who walked through Nazareth is still at work today, and he still responds to faith. The question is whether we are willing to bring it.
